Annual Travis Cares Conference
Each year, our San Angelo team is invited to address the physical therapy students at Angelo State University before they take their state board exams. Many of you may know that physical therapists play a vital role in custom wheelchairs and seating, as well as all things pertaining to special-needs and assisted devices. Our team teaches the students the "ins and outs" of how to obtain proper measurements, as well as what documentation the insurance will look for on the evaluation documentation. We are also given the opportunity to showcase different types of equipment, as well as seating systems for manual and powerchairs, so the students might have a better idea of what is available when they start their careers. The class is usually preceded by an exciting game of wheelchair basketball!
Travis Cares Oklahoma City - Nov 1
Travis Cares Laredo - Oct 12
Our Abilene Travis Cares Team hosted an inspiring and educating day for the HSU PT students in Abilene, Texas.
Students from Hardin-Simmons University PT program recently attended a wheelchair and seating workshop presented by Larry Evans and DJ Callaway.
Following the presentation the students participated in an exciting game of wheelchair basketball!
